February 18, 2009 ...introducing the >Q< Booth!

The >Q< Booth manned by our buddy Corey was making quite a splash at a recent wedding. We are hoping to do this more often since it was so much fun for everyone. Therefore, starting from now we will be offering this service to potential brides and grooms. How did you light the booth???

When we did it, we just used one soft box at a 45 degree angle... also we automated it so no one had to man it... just set it to f11 and focused at a predetermined distance... as long as they stood behind the X on the floor they were going to be sufficiently sharp due to the depth of field.... then we put the camera on manual focus and taped it up so no one could mess with the settings... and used pocket wizards (in relay mode) to both trigger the flash and camera at the same time.. that way ppl could wander over whenever and do it themselves ... had about 100 ppl do it and they all turned out great!!

They said the quality was awesome (compared to the low quality of other wedding photobooths) and that this was one of the things they enjoyed about the wedding. Also the after effects when I posted in my facebook that the photobooth was up was just unbelievable. Ahhhh Jason these are quite tempting. We just might have to jump on the photo-booth bandwagon. I agree the quality looks great with that lighting. Impressive for a first photo-booth run. Also great job directing people to get goofy and nutty =)

February 3, 2009 Chantel + Robert :: Fun Times

Chantel and Robert are such sweethearts. They are so much fun to be around with. We spent a couple hours together mostly just goofing around. These are just a few snapshots from the session.

January 23, 2009 Karean + David :: E-session :: Laguna Beach

If you were to put Karean and David together, their name would spell the word awesome...seriously. I wanted to keep this e-session fun and relax. Therefore, I suggested to these two cool cats to hop into my car and we just went driving down to Laguna Beach in hope of finding something interesting along the way. And I am sure glad they were down with it. Here are a few winners.

January 21, 2009 Nina & Derek :: Wedding

Nina and Derek's wedding was my first one of the year. Their wedding included a tea ceremony and a traditional ceremony at the Hilton in San Gabriel. The day was filled with events from the top of the morning till late into the night. Thank you guys for making me a part of your beautiful celebration. Did I mention that Nina's mom gave a red lucky envelope to start out the new year. Sweet! I also like to thank the very sweet and talented Natalie Williams for coming out to shoot with me and Carrie/crew from Exquisite for the beautiful designs and coordination.

Derek started the day by bringing some gifts and red envelopes to Nina's place.

Then Derek and the groomsmen had to do whatever it takes to prove his love and devotion for Nina before they can enter the house.

January 15, 2009 Amy & Mike :: Road Trip!!!

It was such a beautiful day and I needed an excuse to go on a road trip. So we headed out to Mormon Rocks for this ultra cool e-session. Although it was freezing and I was feeling lightheaded the whole time, we did manage to pull off some amazing shots. I think!
